Abstract
The proposal of the Italian Space Geodesy in the framework of the CERGOP II project funded by the European Union, is based on the Near-Real-Time applications of GPS technique. In particular services and applications in the field of meteorology, landslides monitoring and navigation will be developed. The work will show some results about the near real time solutions achieved for meteorology applications. Furthermore local GPS networks are optimal survey systems suitable to monitor the evolution of areas affected by ground instabilities such as landslides. These kinds of applications are becoming a powerful tool in this field. At the Center for Space Geodesy in Matera, Italy during the last years have been increased the activity related to these applications. It has been done many campaign of measurement, in different areas, analysing different kind of landslides with different behaviour and evolution. Some of the results from different test sites are reported. Of course the kind of approach for the measurement in function of the characteristic of the investigated phenomena. These means different kind of solution about the realisation of the marker used for the measurement, differences in the frequency and in the method of GPS measurement. In the recent past we establish networks on mud floods characterised by rapid movements, in areas with the presence of instable block of rocks along riverside and in very densely areas affected by problem of instability. Of course we privilege the use of static GPS method in the area affected by slow movements and techniques of kinematics surveying in presence of rapid evolutions. Currently we are studying some areas of archaeological importance in the neighbour of Matera. We plan to monitor a couple of other areas in Central-East Europe in the CERGOP II framework as well.
